Big News
I have been a bad blogger. Honestly, I have been too busy to even think straight lately, let alone put together cohesive sentences. Spring is always crazy for musicians, I’m not sure why-maybe spring is just crazy for everyone? It seems like all the work I would love to have spread out evenly over the course of the year lands in my lap for the months of March, April and May. I’m not complaining, I am very happy to be a working musician, it would just be nice if I didn’t have to pull a couple of 12 hour days this week when back in November I was sitting around on my ass. Whatever, enough complaining…on to the good stuff.
Adding to all of my confusion lately (and the explanation for my non-running status) has been the fact that I am PREGNANT. It is very exciting, and something Brian and I have wanted for a while. This will be our first child, not to mention the first grandchild for both our families so needless to say, this kid will be one spoiled little brat. We are very happy, but I have spent the last few months being very, very tired which has made it hard to get a lot of work done. I think it is slowly getting better (I am officially in my 2nd trimester now) but I know there is a long road ahead.
I had really hoped to keep running through my first trimester, but it was amazing to me how clearly my body asked me not to. I just can’t do it. Not to mention that now that I have a heart rate monitor, I have discovered that with only brisk walking, my heart rate sometimes goes up to about 150! How crazy is that? I hope my heart doesn’t explode one of these days when I’m doing something really strenuous like buying groceries.
Anyway, there it is, my big news that I have been keeping from all of you (all five of you) for the last three months. I assure you, this will not turn into a baby/pregnancy blog-I’m not ready to go down that road. But at least I can regale you with tales of my constant weight gain and non-stop eating. I’m pretty sure there will be some good material in there.
